Singer-songwriter Kehlani has begun touring for her newest album: “Crash” which came out June 21st, 2024. The tour started September 4th, 2024, and goes until November 2nd, 2024. This review comes from the performance on September 20th, 2024 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The concert began at 8:00 pm, opening with a new up & coming girl group, FLO, and rapper, Anyica.

Kehlani came on stage starting her setlist with the song “Next 2 U” and followed up with “Groove Theory.” The visuals on the screens gave a 70s groovy kind of vibe, and the backing band was incredible, shredding on the guitar, piano, and the drums.

Following the first two songs, Kehlani took a moment to talk to the crowd and introduced her concert, what she will be playing and how grateful she is for everyone to show up. Kehlani stated, “I’m gonna play some old sh*t, new sh*t, and some sh*t that came out two weeks ago.”

After this short interlude of speaking to her fans, Kehlani went straight into ‘What I Want’ which prompted her dancers to come out from backstage and show off their fantastic choreography. She then performed one of her old popular songs, ‘Nunya’ which had the entire arena singing their hearts out. Kehlani proceeded to sing her verse of “The Way,” Where a comedic display occurred where everyone forgot a verse, including Kehlani herself.

Followed by “You Should Be Here.” Kehlani’s stage presence was so mesmerizing that jaws were opened when she was dancing all around the stage. Kehlani sang her most popular song, “Toxic” as well as other favorites “Can I” and “Water.”

She then took another moment to speak in between her setlist stating she released an album two weeks ago. She told the crowd that people voted for her to perform three songs off the album, and she then continued the performance. Kehlani started with “Clothes Off” having fellow artist Kwn come on stage and sing her feature. Kehlani then continued with “When He’s Not There.” Before finally finishing up the performance with her song “After Hours.”

Throughout the show, Kehlani performed a multitude of other fan favorite songs and had

plenty of surprise guests such as Maiya the Don, Crash Cobain, and Jordan Adetunji to perform his song ‘KEHLANI’ with Kehlani’s feature.

Kehlani wrapped up the performance by bringing out her five-year-old daughter Adeya Nomi on stage and the pair thanked everyone for coming to her almost sold-out concert.

Overall, this concert was incredible and Kehlani is a fantastic performer you are not going to want to miss. Song after song Kehlani was able to impress fans with ease and this Brooklyn concert only shows a fraction of her talent. Tickets for upcoming shows are still available online.
