Even though we are still in September, it is never too early to start planning for Halloween. As students are anxiously waiting for cool fall weather and all the comforts that the fall season brings, one cannot help but be excited about this holiday.
Most places that sell Halloween costumes and accessories have sales for early shoppers. This fall, college students have a variety of options when it comes to obtaining affordable Halloween costumes, decorations, and treats. One place that has all three items on that list is Walmart.
Walmart is promising customers “fang-tastic savings” this Halloween. Currently, there are sales on adult costumes, decorations, accessories, and Halloween-themed clothing. Halloween baking supplies, recipes, and candy can also be purchased at Walmart within a reasonable price range for college students.
Another approach to obtaining inexpensive costumes is to do-it-yourself. The internet is full of DIY Halloween costumes that allow students to not only save money, but also add a personal touch to their costumes. Supplies for DIY costumes are cheaper than buying a brand new costume at a store and can be made from materials that a person already owns.
Pinterest, the popular social media network, is an easy to navigate place to find inspiration for DIY costumes. On this network, students can view over 1,000 different pictures and ideas for DIY Halloween costumes that can either be copied with the help of instructions or people can choose to put their own spin on the costume ideas as well.
Dressing up for Halloween is an outlet for creative expression. Creating costumes with roommates, friends, or family is a memorable bonding experience, so don’t miss out on this opportunity that only comes around once a year.
