Tracey Cheek, Arts Editor
Tune into WONY 90.0FM to add some spice into your Friday afternoons!
Tracey Cheek: What is the name of your show?
Sage Levene: The Spice Rack
TC: Do you have a DJ name? If so, what?
SL: I just call myself “your host Sage” because my show name is The Spice Rack!
TC: When is your show?
SL: Fridays, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
TC: How did you get involved with WONY?
SL: I always was interested in college radio, so when I transferred here in
Spring 2014, I joined right away.
TC: Are there any other shows on WONY that you listen to?
SL: I’m a big fan of Aimee Albright & Joanna Chiappone’s 100% Natural Good Time Band Solution, which is on Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
TC: What genre of music is your show?
SL: My show is a mixture of all types of rock — classic, jam, and alternative.
TC: What makes your segment different from others?
SL: We don’t have a ton of classic rock DJs on our station, and we especially don’t have a lot of people who play jam rock, so that makes my show unique.
TC: What are your favorite songs to play on the radio?
SL: That’s a tough one. I can narrow it down to the bands I play the most which are The Grateful Dead, The Kinks, moe., and Phish.
TC: Why should students tune into your WONY show?
SL: Students should tune into my show to hear some music they may never have heard before!
