The State Times: What is your DJ name?
DL: I don’t really have one, I mainly use my first name because it’s already sort of unique
ST: When do you usually DJ for WONY?
DL: This semester my show time is on Thursday from noon to 2p.m.
ST: How did you get involved with WONY?
DL: My cousin is an alumn of SUNY Oneonta and he recommended that I check out the radio station when I first transferred here.
ST: How long have you been involved with WONY?
DL: Since spring semester of 2013, I literally started my training as soon as possible and I’ve been doing it every semester since.
ST: What music genre of music do you usually play?
DL: I normally play classic rock and oldies, and other genres like alternative rock such as Third Eye Blind or Foo Fighters. I grew up listening to that type of music so I figured I’d stick to it. But I do play other types of music when people call in and request.
ST: Do you do anything unique or different during your segment on the show?
DL: I’m a huge Bruce Springsteen fan so it has become a tradition to play his music on every show. Honestly, if I could I would play his music the whole time.
ST: What are some of your favorite songs to feature as of late?
DL: I don’t really play the same songs every show but more of the same artists. Lately it’s been Bruce Springsteen, The Foo Fighters and Third Eye Blind. I could listen to those bands for hours and not get bored.
ST: Why should students tune into WONY during your segment?
DL: If you’re into classic rock, oldies, alternative rock or really anything else, I’m really open to playing whatever someone requests. I’m not strict about my playlists. If you want to hear it, I’ll play it.
