SUNY Oneonta Remembers September 11

Approaching the twelfth anniversary of the tragic day in American history, SUNY Oneonta will be participating in an annual September 11 ceremony. This afternoon, September 11, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. in front of the memorial between Fitzelle Hall and the Fine Arts building, students and faculty will gather for a silent service. Later in the evening, a candlelight vigil will be hosted by Chi Phi Fraternity and will take place in the IRC quad at 6:00 p.m. Honored will be the lives of the 2,977 people whose lives were lost on this day twelve years ago, seven of them being alumni of SUNY Oneonta. The University Police Department, whom along with several campus organizations and students will be recognizing this worldwide tragedy and honoring not only the lost lives, but the heroes, survivors, family and friends during this yearly observance.
