This semester students were encouraged to apply for scholarships offered by the Oneonta Student Association. The Student Association is pleased to announce the recipients of the Student Association scholarships.
Bob Cicio was an involved student at the College of Oneonta in the mid-60s. Bob studied elementary education and was a dedicated student. He was involved in many special interest groups: campus publications, fine arts and athletics. The Bob Cicio Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who displays involvement in University College at Oneonta community. Congratulations to Laura Arias for being awarded this scholarship!
Kathleen Jermyn was a Business Economics major at the College of Oneonta. Kathleen was heavily involved in sports on campus. She also loved to travel and spent a semester studying at Ealing College in London. In a tragic accident Kathleen was killed when her plane, flying from London to New York City, exploded. The Kathleen Jermyn Memorial Scholarship is given to a student who is involved in either intramurals or intercollegiate athletics at SUNY Oneonta. We are proud to announce John Darrin as the recipient of this scholarship!
Rita Broyles was a very active student at Oneonta. She was a resident advisor, a member of Oneonta Student Senate, president of Newman Club and a member of the State Times staff. When studying abroad in Germany in the fall of 1971, she was involved in an automobile accident that took her life. The Rita Broyles Memorial Scholarship is for applicants that are involved on campus. We are glad to award this scholarship to Nadia Mulvihill!
Michael Wilkinson was an academically gifted student who loved to be involved on campus. He thoroughly enjoyed sciences and studying the outdoors. As a freshman he became an officer of three different clubs. The Michael Wilkinson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who is dedicated to becoming involved on campus early on in their college career. We are pleased to announce Niki Sumire as the recipient of this scholarship!
