This week there were two standout individuals in women’s cross country and in women’s field hockey who helped their respective teams to outstanding performances both in the SUNYAC tournament & the Connecticut College Cross-Country Invitational.
#9 Ashley Morgan
Position: Midfield
Class: Junior
Major: Childhood Education
Hometown: Putnam Valley
High School: Putnam Valley
Ashley Morgan contributed to the field hockey team securing the second seed in the SUNYAC tournament with two wins over Brockport and Geneseo, 3-2 and 1-0 respectively. Morgan had a hand in two game-winning goals this week. Against Brockport, Morgan scored the game winning goal at the 55:18 mark and she helped set up the game winning goal against Geneseo.
Danielle Kennedy
Class: Sophomore
Major: English/Education
Hometown: Stony Point
High School: Albertus Magnus
Danielle Kennedy helped the women’s cross country team to a 5th place finish at the Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational. Out of 211 runners in the race, Kennedy finished in ninth place. In the 6k course, Kennedy ran a time of 22 minutes & 48 seconds over the 6k course. Kennedy placed the second fastest time in Oneonta State cross country history for the 6k course distance.
