This summer, the Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown will be host to a series of concerts of some rather big-name acts: Cake, Death Cab for Cutie, Lyle Lovett (formerly of The Band), Wilco and Darius Rucker (formerly of Hootie and the Blowfish). Needless to say, this is some exciting news for those who live in the area or are motivated to take a road trip to Cooperstown this summer. But what other music events will be going on? • Spring Camp Jam in the Pines – May 17 to 19. Old Cedar Campground. Monroeville, NJ. An all-weekend festival hosting national, regional and local acts, with a wide array of talent in many styles of music. They offer camping facilities in the South Jersey farmlands.
• Michael Arnone’s Crawfish Fest – June 1 to 3. The Sussex County Fairgrounds. Frankford, NJ. New Orleans style music, food and Camping Festival.
• Gathering of the Vibes – July 19 to 22. Seaside Park. Bridgeport, CT. Featuring Primus, Phil Lesh & Friends, Bob Weir & Bruce Hornsby, Zappa Plays Zappa, The Avett Brothers and more.
