On Friday, October 23rd, Higgins Hall and Hall Government hosted a Haunted House event for  residents and students alike. The first event kicked off at the basement lounge at 4:30 PM, where  RA Sucerilyn created a password game where people had to guess the Halloween themed code.  The event also included a fun activity of painting mini pumpkins alongside cookies for residents  to munch on while playing fun games.

Then, around 8:30 PM, the main event began as the 1st floor and basement floor opened for  everyone to experience the fun. The halls were decorated with a variety of decorations on the  walls and ceilings, such as colorful cobwebs, eyeballs hanging on the ceiling, and door decals of  ghosts on the entrances of the building. Even the elevator was decorated, with a cauldron and a  skeleton figure on the wall to top the decorations off.

On the 1st floor was a table full of food such as mac and cheese, buffalo wings, and chips with buffalo chicken dip that also included cookies and Capri-Suns as a drink for residents to enjoy. Inside the 1st floor lounge included more activities such as a variety of board games for residents to enjoy. People could also make their own desserts by making their own dirt cups or Rice Krispie Treats, in which they could decorate them to look like a spooky Halloween character such as Dracula or a ghost. The RAs and hall government members also put on some music for residents to chill out to as they ate, created their own desserts, and had fun amongst themselves.

On the basement floor lounge, there was another pumpkin painting event, but this time with large  pumpkins as paintbrushes and cups were laid out amongst the tables. There were also board  games for people if they wanted, but many who came into the lounge opted to paint their  pumpkins and relax. Afterwards, there was a pumpkin smashing event held, where people were  able to destroy the pumpkins they either made or that were lying around as a way to destress.

When asked about the event, the RAs said that they wanted to give residents a way to have fun  and to get into the Halloween spirit, especially after midterms where students may have been  feeling stressed. Overall, it was a fun and laid-back event for people to enjoy as the excitement of Halloween approaches.
