Back in 2020 TikTok saw the rise of content houses. Content houses were houses that had groups of content creators in them. One house was notorious in 2020, called the Hype House. Since the house started, many creators living under its roof have since moved out and gone their own ways with the content they post.

Alex Warren, formerly part of the Hype House, was one of those creators who left. Since leaving he’s gotten married to his longtime girlfriend Kovur Annon and is now releasing music. One of the songs he released is called “Burning Down” and it’s about the Hype House.

According to Pedestrian TV, Warren posted a TikTok with text that read “I wrote this about that content house.” After the video was posted, fans began to speculate the NDAs the creators signed when joining the house that finally expired, and the truth would be told about the Hype House.

The first to leave was one of the founders of the brand, Daisy Keech, who filed a lawsuit against the other founders, Thomas Petrou and Chase Hudson. Pedestrian TV mentions that Keech started a domino effect of creators leaving the house. Warren and Annon left in 2022 the pair stated “that they wanted to ‘move on to the next chapter in their lives’ but were ‘still friends with everyone there.’”

The lyrics sourced from Genius tell a story of a man trapped in a toxic situation with no other choice than to leave. The lyrics fans hooked onto were “Said I’m the one who’s wanted for all the fires you started you knew the house was burning down I had to get out.” The clip Warren posted confirming the song being about the content house had these lyrics in the music playing in the video.

According to J-14 Magazine, Warren and Petrou are no longer on speaking terms. Warren isn’t the only creator from the content house with the truth to tell. Other creators such as Tabitha Swatosh have hinted at a dark truth to the Hype House, but haven’t been able to speak out due to the NDAs. The NDAs were part of many agreements they signed to join the house to protect the house and give Petrou De facto rights to all content created in the house itself.

“Burning Down” is an emotional diss track that’s been a long time coming. NDAs prohibit the person who signed it from disclosing potentially damaging information about a person or company. NDAs typically have an expiration date on them which means the signee can say whatever they want about the person who had them sign the document, without legal repercussions. Past Hype House members signed an NDA and once they left they had to sit on the truth until the expiration date.

Warren released the song early before the debut album it would be part of due to popular demand. The song came out a few weeks ago and fans are speculating about the meaning behind the lyrics and what they could reveal about the Hype House. Pedestrian TV wrote that Warren mentioned in an interview with Nick Viall on the Viall Files podcast that members would make jokes that if they couldn’t make TikToks then they couldn’t eat. The joke started because of how hard Petrou was on them about posting.

Unfortunately, fans are still waiting for the whole story and the real truth about the Hype House. The Hype House was not as great a place as their social media posts made it seem.
