As 2016 nears ever closer, many people are getting excited to see what the year will bring for music. Start your year off right and check out these albums being released during the month of January:
David Bowie – Blackstar (Jan 8) – The 25th studio album by eclectic musician David Bowie will not so coincidentally be released on his 69th birthday. The seven-track album will no doubt be coveted by fans of the unique rocker.

Panic! At The Disco – Death of a Bachelor (Jan 15) – Panic!’s fifth studio album has been written and composed entirely by singer Brendan Urie. It is described by Urie as being a mix between Frank Sinatra and Queen. Be sure to check this album out if you’re a fan of grand orchestration and want to see what Urie can do when given full control of his music.

Aborted – Termination Redux (Jan 15) – If you’re into death metal or grindcore to any extent, then Aborted is the band for you. The group’s 20th anniversary EP is set to release via Century Media Records. They’re the perfect band to listen to when you want something fast, nuts, and NSFW.

Dream Theater – The Astonishing (Jan 29) – The pioneers of progressive metal have supposedly had a new concept album in the works for a long time. This release is going to be a 34-track double album, based around a story about a dystopian future. It is clearly their most ambitious album to date, preparing to top their previous 1999 concept album Scenes From A Memory.
