   It’s election season! November 6 is the date in which all Americans have the right to go out and vote. It may seem like a long time from now but the sixth of November will creep up on us soon. The weeks and months leading up to Election Day should be spent learning about the candidates and making a decision on who you want to vote for. In the next couple of weeks there will be numerous debates from each candidate on television. Before you tune in to listen to the debates I’ll give you some basic information on what the candidate’s views are on certain issues.

Barack Obama
Abortion: Pro-choice
Healthcare: Passed Obamacare, a plan to reform the healthcare system by providing affordable healthcare to all Americans
Same-sex marriage: Supports gay marriage and civil unions
Economy: Supported bailouts, believing it protected the financial system. Plans to raise taxes on the rich

Mitt Romney
Abortion: Pro-life, except in instances of rape, incest, or the life of the mother is threatened
Healthcare: Believes in personal responsibility
Same-sex marriage: Believes marriage should be between a man and a woman
Economy: Plans to make budget cuts

Virgil Goode: Constitution Party
Abortion: Pro-life
Healthcare: Plans to repeal Obamacare
Same-sex marriage: opposes gay marriage and civil unions
Economy: Favors budget cuts and decreasing tax rates

Gary Johnson: Libertarian Party
Abortion: Pro-choice
Healthcare: Plans to repeal Obamacare. Wants to turn Medicaid into a voucher system
Same-sex marriage: Supports gay marriage and civil unions
Economy: Plans to cut federal budget and doesn’t support bailouts

Jill Stein: Green Party
Abortion: Pro-choice
Healthcare: Believes Americans have the right to free healthcare
Same-sex marriage: Supports gay marriage and civil unions
Economy: Plans to raise taxes for the wealthy
