This semester, two of our executive board seats became vacant. John Myron and Elizabeth White, former Student Association Direc- tors, stepped up and ran in the Spring 2013 Executive Board Elections. John Myron, former Director of External Affairs, was elected as the Executive Vice President, and Elizabeth White, former Director of College Operations, was elected as the Vice President of Finance on January 25, 2013. Both have assimilated well into their positions and have been working hard to keep up with the demands of Student Association. The two took their inaugural oaths on January 29, 2013 and have since fully assumed the responsibilities that the SA bestows upon them.

Myron is a senior studying Criminal JusticewithaminorinSociology. Like his colleagues in SA, Myron joined Sen- ate to serve as a voice for the student body. He enjoyed the work he was assigned to complete, and through doing so, “learned many important life skills, and developed great relationships with faculty and administration.” Myron left Senate his junior year to pursue leadership positions in the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity but longed to return to Senate. After gaining valuable leadership skills as the Commu- nity Service Chair and Vice President of Phi Kappa Psi, Myron “knew that it was time to return to Senate for his last year at Oneonta.” Myron also serves as a student director on the School’s Foundation Board and takes pride in making this campus a better place for students.

VP White, also a senior, is studying mu- sic industry and mass communications. White has served on the Student Associa- tion Senate since freshman year. She has served as the Director of College Opera- tions for a year and a half and is “really excited to be continuing with the Student Association.” She hopes to “continue to help others on this campus with any is- sues and reach any goals they may have.” White is the current General Manager of WONY 90.9FM and Treasurer of the Com- munications Arts Society.

The student body has elected two ex- ceptional representatives to serve on the Student Association Executive board. We are looking forward to a great semester with them. Both can be reached via email or by visiting them in the SA office in the basement of Hunt Union.
