HBO Max is premiering Bring Her Back, a psychological horror film directed by Danny and Michael Philippou. This story centers around two siblings who witness a disturbing ritual performed by their foster mother. This movie has received praise for its eerie atmosphere and intense performances.

Another Netflix original titled, Prevenge, is a British horror-comedy by Alice Lowe. This movie tells the story of a pregnant woman who believes her unborn child is compelling her to commit murder. For more family friendly options, Hallmark is releasing a new movie this Halloween season. Haul Out The Halloween stars Lacey Chabert playing Emily, a woman who is competing with her neighbors in a Halloween decoration contest. This film premieres on October 11 and provides a more seasonal charm rather than an intense horror.
Disney+ is also releasing Season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. This show is a sequel to the popular 2000’s show, Wizards of Waverly Place. This new season is sure to bring nostalgia for those who grew up watching the original, as well as bring some witchy vibes to Halloween.
Another film to be released is coming out later in the season. On November 21, Wicked: For Good is the second installment of the two-part adaptation of the Wicked musical. This movie will follow the events of the first film, bringing shocking twists and turns to the story of The Wizard of Oz.
Moving away from official movies, a fan-made film has received high levels of praise for its emotional depth. This film is called Halloween Aftermath, directed by James Grim. Set between Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, the story follows Cole Dalton. Dalton is a survivor of the 2018 Haddonfield massacre as he grapples with trauma and the threat of death.
