Sedona Prince is a women’s basketball player who recently played for Texas Christian University (TCU). While Prince was not only upset about the TCU loss to Texas A&M in the Elite Eight, she was also under major pressure from her past.
Prince is an excellent basketball player, who began at Texas A&M for two years, transferred to Oregon for another two years, and has ended her collegiate career with two years at TCU. To continue playing basketball, Prince is planning on entering the 2025 WNBA draft.
The allegations against Prince first began in Aug. 2024 when her ex-girlfriend, Liv Stabile, took to TikTok in a 10-part series. Stabile explained that Prince was always on edge and had a temper. For Prince’s birthday, the two went on a romantic getaway to Mexico. Tensions were high immediately from the start, when Stabile spilled a little beer on the plane and Prince responded by moving her seat and giving her the silent treatment.
From there on, the trip was a mess. While the first two days were okay, the third day was where everything went downhill. Prince wanted to rent an ATV motorbike and explore Mexico, which Stabile agreed would be a fun idea. The couple left their phones at the hotel so they would remain present in the moment. During the ride, Prince was driving at high speeds on unsafe roads, and Stabile expressed her fear for her safety and asked to go back to the hotel. Prince responded dramatically, stopping the ATV as hard as she could, pushing Stabile to the ground, and driving away. Stabile was left on the ground, in the pitch black, in Mexico.
After some time of distress, Prince came back for Stabile, but the tension was unbearable. Prince crashed the ATV while they were both on it and began yelling at Stabile for causing the accident. Prince screamed at her the whole way back to the hotel, especially stating that this was her fault and that the two of them were broken up.
While this wasn’t the actual end of their relationship, it didn’t take much longer for the two to break up. During the trip, Stabile kept catching Prince flirting with other women and even going topless with another girl. Stabile finally called it quits and got a flight home, while Prince remained in Mexico for another 12 days.
The accusations made by Stabile have been the most talked about. However, other girls have followed in her footsteps and come out against Prince, stating similar issues with abuse and manipulation. According to the Washington Post, allegations against Prince’s abuse go back to 2019 when a sexual misconduct lawsuit involving Prince was dismissed.
After Stabile’s lengthy TikTok series in Sept., a change.org petition was produced to remove Sedona Prince from the TCU basketball team. While the petition gained over 200k signatures, no action was done on TCU’s part to remove or attempt to remove Prince from the team.
Prince has denied all of these accusations through her attorney, A. Boone Almanza. Almanza stated that Prince has never “abused anyone in her life, whether mentally, emotionally, or physically.” Additionally, Almanza has reported, “Unfortunately, others have decided to use Sedona as a launch point for their careers. To create some relationship privacy, Sedona has asked girlfriends to sign nondisclosure agreements because their personal, intimate moments should not be the subject of public discussion.”
